MELISSA ANNE DUPALEVICH COWAN Melissa Anne DuPalevich Cowan, 39, passed away peacefully on Feb. 24 in Boston, MA. Melissa was born in Wilmington on July 5, 1974, grew up in Burgaw, NC and had enjoyed living for the last seven years in Martha's Vineyard, MA. She was preceded in death by her Papa, Fred Rooks and Grandma Dupie, Mabel Dupalevich. Melissa is survived by her mother, Rebecca Rooks Hughes (Mike) and father, Ronnie Dupalevich (Carol); sister and best friend, Natasha Lee and niece Courtney; sisters, LeAnna, Meredith and Ashley; Grandmother, Anne Rooks; and a large circle of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and a special person in her life, Ed Tuzik. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 1 at 11:00 am at Watha United Methodist Church, 160 Camp Kirkwood Rd, Willard, NC. Her cousin and friend Kay was a very special person in her life and she would want any memorial gifts to be made to the Domestic Violence Shelter and Services, PO Box 1555, Wilmington, NC 28402.
