Cooperstown, Oct. 13. -- The life of Peter Shoffstall passed out last Sunday at his home, near the town of Cooperstown. He was born Feb. 2, 1829, and died Oct. 7, 1911. In 1885 he was married to Miss Mary Magdalene Williams. The funeral services were held at the home of Tuesday at 10 o'clock, the Rev. J. K. MacDivitt officiating. Interment was made in the Cochranton Cemetery.
Peter Shoffstall moved to Venango county from Crawford county on April 4, 1881, and had lived here ever since that time. He was a good citizen and neighbor and an industrious farmer. He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and lived a good life and when the heaven sent messenger came he was ready to go, because he had finished his work. He is survived by his wife, at Cooperstown, and the following children: William P., of Bethel; Clint., Cooperstown; Hattie, Cochranton; James, Rocky Grove; Grant, Franklin; Cassius, Cooperstown; Bert, Cooperstown.
