WATSON, FRED HERBERT, age 80, of Vonore, passed away Friday morning, October 26, 2018 at his home.

He was a faithful and dedicated member of Howard’s Chapel Baptist Church where he served as a deacon since September 15, 1974. He loved the Lord, his church members and his family and everyone he ever met.

He was preceded in death by great-grandson, Jered McMeans; parents, Stanley and Molly Watson; sisters, Sue Giles, Wanda Loveday; brothers, Stanley Watson, Jr., Gene Watson; brothers-in-law, Roger Cox, Bobby Gray, Leroy Baker and John Summey.

He leaves behind wife of 61 years, June Watson; Daughter, Beverly Evans, of Vonore; Sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley and Jennifer Watson, of Jacksonville, NC, Freddie and Regina Watson, of Madisonville; Granddaughters, Elizabeth Watson, Caroline Cornine, Felicia Dilbeck and husband Jon, Brianna Watson; Grandsons, Charles Watson, Brian Cornine and wife, Toshia, Patrick Cornine, Fred Watson; Great-grandchildren, Raven Lee, Katrina Lee, Alana Herring, Isiah Dilbeck, Jonathan Dilbeck; Sisters and brothers-in-law, Katherine Summey, of Maryville, Margie Gray, Mary Cox, Winfred Loveday, James Giles, all of Vonore; Brothers and sisters-in-law, Lum and Beulah Watson, Roy and Carol Watson, all of Maryville, Barbara Watson, of Vonore; Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral 4:00 p.m. Sunday, Howard’s Chapel Baptist Church, Rev. Barney Tipton, Rev. Kenneth Johnson officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Howard’s Chapel Baptist Church.
