James Edward Horner, 82, of 520 Hester Store Rd., Roxboro, died Friday, October 26, 2018. Born in Person County, Mr. Horner was the son of the late William Clyde Horner and Mabel Horton Horner Whitfield. Mr. Horner was a farmer and retired from Collins & Aikman after 43 years. He later worked from Boyette Automotive. Mr. Horner assisted with the Bushy Fork Athletic Club and was of the Primitive Baptist faith.

Mr. Horner is survived by his wife, Peggy Harris Horner; one son, Kelly Horner and wife Robin, of Roxboro; one brother, Billy Horner, of Roxboro; two sisters, Jean Scoville, of Roxboro and Dorothy Fowlkes, of Chatham, VA; two grandchildren, Brittany H. Ashworth and husband Hunter and Keaton Horner, all of Roxboro.

Funeral services will be held 3PM Sunday, October 28, 2018, at Salem United Methodist Church by the Rev. Renee Burnette and the Rev. Vernon Wilkerson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-3PM Sunday at Salem United Methodist Church prior to the service and at other times at the home.

Pallbearers will be Chad Horner, Austin Horner, Donnie Solomon, Matt Solomon, Peaches Solomon, Michael Wyatt, Bert Zimmerman, and David Solomon.
