She was employed at the Department of Work Force Services in Monticello and was Church of Christ faith. She was a graduate of UAM, having taught 2nd grade at City Park Elementary School for two years before moving to Florida and teaching third and fourth grades there for two years.
Survivors include one son, Marcus Lawson of Monticello; two brothers, Bob Lawson of GA and Steve Lawson and wife Bea of Bryant; aunt and uncle, Verna and Reg Conway of Waldron; aunt, Evelyn Lawson of Monticello; uncles and aunts, Tommy and Sybil McHan of Huber Springs and Paul and MaryJo McHan of Columbia, TN; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
