Ronald Harry “Gabby” DeVoe, 79, of Xenia, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018, at his residence. He was born February 13, 1939, in Greene County, Ohio, the son of Glenn W. and Mildred Connell DeVoe. He was a member of Xenia Elks Lodge, #668, and Beavercreek Moose Lodge, # 73. He retired from UPS and as an independent gravel hauler. He is survived by two daughters, Mary Jo (David) Campbell, Cedarville, and Karen Wissel (James Reed), Beavercreek, four grandchildren, Blake Olen “Opie” (fiancée, Hannah Williamson) Campbell, Cedarville, Kayla Lee (Jon) Sweeney, Michigan City, IN, Jenna Nicole Wissel, and Carson Joseph Wissel, of Beavercreek, a sister, Norma Tidd, Jamestown, sisters-in-law, Jerri DeVoe, and Betty DeVoe, of Xenia, and Carol Jean Noble, Cedarville, by several nieces and nephews, by many close friends, including a special friend, Robbie McClain, and by his loving pet companion, Charlie. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Shirley Glennen, and by two brothers, Glenn W. DeVoe, Jr. and Thomas DeVoe. He was a devoted husband, dad, grandpa, and brother who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10am, Thursday, November 1, 2018, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with Rev. Ronald Swiger officiating. Private graveside services will be held by the family in Beaver Cemetery, Beavercreek. There will be no visitation.
