Ray passed away on Friday May 8, 2015 at the age of 66 in his home surrounded by family and friends. J.R. is survived by his mother, Eunice Vann; wife, Peggy Sibley Ray; son Wayne Ray and wife Felicia; daughter Melissa Nesom and husband James; grandchildren, Jacob and Hannah Ray, and Jessica and Layna Nesom; brother-in-laws, Jimmy Sibley and wife Norma, Mike Sibley and wife Jamye; nephews and niece, Grey, Brian, Jed and Hallie Sibley. Preceded in death by his son, John Ray Jr. Visitation will be Sunday at Revival Temple Church in Walker from 5:00-8:00 pm and Monday from 2:00-4:00 pm. Funeral services will be at Revival Temple at 4:00 pm Monday. Interment will follow at church cemetery. J.R. was a retired Safety Engineer; a member of Revival Temple Church; he enjoyed fishing, spending time with his family, working, and teaching safety classes. His family was the joy of his life. He was the happiest spending time with his family and taking pictures of his grandkids. J.R. was a man of strong faith and always put the needs of others before his.
