Paul William Jennings, 86, of Red Wing died Thursday, October 25, 2018 at St. Crispin Living Community. He was born January 14, 1932 in Red Wing to William and Olive (Crowther) Jennings. He grew up and attended school in Red Wing. On July 30, 1955 he married LaVonne Holden in Ellsworth. Paul was in the United States Army for the first seven years of his marriage and following his honorable discharge, he returned to the Red Wing area where he raised his family. Paul had worked at the bowling alley, Pottery Place, operated the Mobil Station and retired from the S.B. Foot Tannery in 1992. Often keeping to himself, he loved figuring out how things worked and was an excellent mechanic. He often joked he was born 100 years too late and found great enjoyment in farm work, taking care of his animals, fishing and hunting. His family will remember his laugh, his deep care for his loved ones and #88—his stock car number.

Paul is survived by daughters, Donna Johnson and Cindy (Tim) Carroll of Red Wing; sons, Mark (Sarah) Jennings, Tom Jennings and Tony Jennings all of Red Wing; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; siblings, Doris (Kermith) Clifford, Daniel (Nancy) Jennings and Ronald (Patty) Jennings.
He is preceded in death by his wife, LaVonne and siblings, Irma Hillman, Isabelle Glines, David, Edward and Donald Jennings and an infant sister.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2018 at United Lutheran Church with Rev. Justin Boeding officiating. Burial with military honors by the Leo C. Peterson #54 will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Mahn Family Funeral Home, Bodelson-Mahn Chapel and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
