Kevin Michael Lamb, December 17, 1981 – October 4, 2018, St. Charles, MO

Kevin Lamb, 36, of St. Charles, MO passed suddenly into eternal life on Thursday, October 4 outside Belgrade, Serbia.

His adventures around the world making friends and pursuing his ideal of a free life was embodied in his recent Mustache Across America bicycle rides from Portland, ME to Portland, OR and, again, from San Diego to Savannah. Kevin was an advocate and ambassador for the poor, particularly the homeless. He spent months helping restore the city of New Orleans, a city he’d later consider his home, after Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005. Alternating much of the next decade between New Orleans, Austin and St. Louis, he remained consistent in his passion for engaging, uplifting and ensuring dignity for the destitute in whatever part of the planet he happened to be venturing in at the time.

Kevin embodied the word compassion, which he had tattooed on his hand, perhaps to serve as a constant reminder of his mission. Kevin proved to this world that one does not require traditional roots in the ground he walks in, in order to make a lasting impact on those around him. His thirst for adventure was only outdone by the size of his heart.

Kevin is survived by his father and mother, Michael and Michelle Lamb, his six brothers and sisters; Katie Ward, Bryan Lamb, Becki Gajewski (David Gajewski), Mark Lamb, Matthew Lamb (Kelly Lamb), and Colleen Gregg (Derek Gregg) along with his nieces and nephews; Haley Laufketter, Justin Ward, Carley Lamb, Patrick Lamb, Quentin Lamb, Lexi Lamb, Kevin Gregg, Dylan Gregg and Nathan Gajewski. He was preceded in death by his sister, Christian Lamb.

Kevin’s legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he interacted with, as well as those he has touched but never met. Share your stories of remembrance on Monday, October 15, 2018, during Kevin’s Visitation service at Newcomer Funeral Home (837 Mid Rivers Mall Dr, St Peters, MO 63376) from 4-8pm.

A memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 10:30am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church (2 Seton Ct., St. Charles, MO 63303).

You can help continue Kevin’s kindness, loyalty and compassion by donating a box of cereal when attending the funeral service or memorial Mass to help contribute to their current initiative to feed the poor of St. Louis.

Please visit Kevin’s memorial page on Facebook in the future to learn of ways to support a foundation the Lamb family intends to form in the coming weeks to help carry on Kevin’s legacy by helping the poor.
