Irene Margaret Ates Stancil, 94, wife of the late, Dwight E Stancil, passed away on October 25, 2018.

Mrs. Stancil was born in Pickens County and was a daughter of the late, Leonard O. and Mae Carnes Ates. She was retired from Pratt Reed, in Central and was a member of Central Church of God.

Surviving are one son, Oneal E. Lackey of McCormick; one daughter, Carolyn Chafin of Central; grandchildren, Wendy McCollum, Dinah J. Seigle, Chris Allen, Brian, Angie, Jason and Josh Lackey; great grandchildren Travis Seigle, Chad Stone, Corey Stone, Zack Allen, Stephanie Allen and five great great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joan Horne and two grandchildren, Marty Jackson and Kimberly Lackey.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 29, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Central Church of God, with burial to follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
