Lenore Irene Berg, youngest daughter of B.F. and Mary A. (King) Myers, was born on a farm near Dexter, IA on June 15, 1903. She passed away July 16, 2007 at the Winterset Care Center South in Winterset, IA at the age of 104 years.

Lenore grew up in the Dexter area. In her high school years she moved with her family to Oceanside California and attended school for a few months at Santa Monica, but was forced to quit due to an illness. The family returned to Iowa and Lenore graduated high school in 1922.

Following high school, Lenore cared for her parents, her father passed away in August of 1931. January 1, 1934 Lenore was united in marriage to Everett S. Sulgrove, they owned and operated a garage for many years in Dexter. Caring for her mother became more difficult, insulin shots three times per day became necessary. To make it easier, Lenore and Everett moved to her mother's home in 1936. Everett passed away November 13, 1947 and Lenore's mother passed away November 20, 1947, one week to the day apart. Lenore sold the garage in 1948 and she purchased the family farm. Lenore was united in marriage to Alonzo Frank Husted, a prominent auctioneer and livestock buyer. 1960 they sold the farm and moved to Bull Shoals, AR, two years later they moved to Springfield, MO where they lived until 1972. They returned to Iowa due to Frank's health. He passed away July of 1977. Lenore moved to Winterset in 1977. She was united in marriage to Melvin N. Berg September 8, 1986.

Lenore was an active member of the Methodist Church while living in Dexter and an active member of the First Christian Church in Winterset. She enjoyed watching TV and following sports. She was recognized by the President of the United States and the Governor of Iowa with a plaque when she turned 100 years of age. She was a lifetime member of the American Legion.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Everett Sulgrove, Alonzo Frank Husted and Melvin Berg; parents, B.F. and Mary Myers; three sisters, Florence Wolf; Ada Jolly; and Helen Heimberger; brother William Myers.

She leaves to cherish her memory step-sons, Melvin B. Berg Jr. of Oceanside, CA & Kenneth D. Berg of Costa Mesa, CA; step-daughter: Sandra L. Piper of Carver, MA; several step grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, Margery Wolf Willett of Mason City, IA, Barbara Wolf Ayres of St. Paul, MN, Bill B. Myers of Denver, CO, Jim Myers Martin of Illinois, Bruce Myers of Buffalo Center, IA, Lanelle Myers Bensenberg of Colorado Springs, CO, Walter Heimberger of Earlham, IA; many great nieces and great nephews, other relatives and friends.
