Janice Yvonne Downing of Claremont, NH died October 21, 2018 at Valley Regional Hospital following a period of failing health. She was born in Allentown, PA on May 26, 1942 the daughter of Freeman and Yvonne (Delzenne) Jacobs and had been a longtime area resident.
Janice and her husband owned and operated a Janitorial Service for many years. She enjoyed playing Yahtzee and card games with her friends at the Marion Phillips Apartments.
She was the widow of Robert J Downing, whom she married on January 18, 1959 in Allentown, PA and who died on July 6, 1999.
Members of her family include two sons, Carl Downing and his wife, Chelly, Keene, NH; Robert Gould and his wife, Terry, Farmington, NH; three daughters, Deborah Mitchell and her husband, Michael, Wilson, NC; Patricia Straughan and her significant other, Michael Hodges, Graham, NC; Cheryl Lunn and her husband, Kevin, Nova Scotia, Canada; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Graveside committal services will be held at Mountain View Cemetery.
