Wendy and Rolando were married for 22 years before they parted ways. During their time together, they raised a beautiful family in Orem, Utah. Wendy's four treasures were her children: Paula (Brandon), Roland (Staci), Conrad (Kim), and Daisy (Mark). While in Utah County Wendy founded and ran a successful business, The Children's Garden Preschool. The family later moved to Hunter, Utah and Wendy began teaching for Granite School District. She later obtained a masters degree in Early Childhood Education from Grand Canyon University. Wendy loved working with children and was blessed with a extraordinary ability to connect with them. The majority of her teaching career was spent at Granger Elementary where she inspired countless students to love learning, value education, and most importantly: know of their worth. Wendy retired from teaching in 2014 but always prided herself on being a lifelong learner.
She enjoyed reading, learning about new cultures, fine art, the theater, dancing and music, authentic Chinese food, all flowers, animals and gardening. Wendy was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Her world was focused on the Gospel of Jesus Christ, her children and grandchildren: Tasha, Dallin, Evan, Braxdon, Penny, Alauria, Allison, Aria, Lilly and Canyon.
If she ever met an individual who was forgotten, despised, marginalized, unfairly judged, or ignored: Wendy was by their side. Wendy sought out the one and minister to them.
She passed away unexpectedly from natural causes at her home on Sunday, October 21, 2018. Her viewing will be held at 3665 S. 6000 W. West Valley City, UT. 6-8 PM on Thursday Oct 25. Her funeral will be at the same location on Friday Oct 26 from 10:30 to 11:30 AM, followed by a luncheon. She will be buried at Woodside, Idaho Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers her family request donations to be given to the Perpetual Education Fund or that you tell your loved ones how you feel about them, serve one another, and enjoy the small things.
