ST. GEORGE - Zelma E. Chappell, 89, died December 15, 2005 in St. George. Born September 16, 1916 in Safford, Arizona to John Echols and Elizabeth Angle. Preceded in death by her husband and best friend, David Grant Chappell. She is survived by her daughter, Donna J. Backlund, son-in-law, Ed Backlund; grandsons, Mike Cutchen, Mark Cutchen, Mitch Cutchen. Matt Cutchen, (deceased) a niece, Betty (Bobby) Engemann. Also survived by several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2005, at 11 a.m., at the Snow Canyon LDS 6th Ward Chapel, 1610 Dixie Downs Rd. A visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m., prior to services at the chapel. Interment will be in the St. George City Cemetery under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary (435) 673-4221.
