Mamie Brewington Wages Ham, 91, of 206 Bennett St., widow of Jesse Ham Sr., died July 4, 1999, at 4 p.m. in Wallace Thomson Hospital.

Mrs. Ham was born in Cross Keys Community of Union County on April 18, 1908, a daughter of the late James Bilby Brewington and Amy Comer Brewington. She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church and was retired from Excel Hosiery Mill. She was first married to the late William Walker Wages.

Survivors include six daughters, Judy Null of White Bear Lake, Minn., Helen Barr of Dale, Okla., Ethel Lancaster of Oklahoma City, Okla., Virginia Crumm of Meeker, Okla., Barbara Rainwater of Jacksonville, Fla., and Dora Horne of the home; three sons, Willie Wages of Roebuck, John Wages of Meeker, Okla., and Donald Wages of Keys Calif.; a sister, Corrie B. Vaughan of Buffalo; three brothers, Lee Brewington of Cross Keys, Norman Brewington and Rufus Brewington, both of Union; 20 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ham was predeceased by a son, Earl Wages of Jonesville.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Thursday at the S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Larry Plyler. Burial will be in Union Memorial Gardens. The body will remain at the funeral home where the family will receive friends Wednesday night from 7-9. The family is at the home of the daughter Dora B. Horne, 206 Bennett St., Union.
The S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
