A memorial service will be held 12:00 noon, Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Vance Brooks Funeral Home, Phenix City, AL. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:00 noon, one hour before the service, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Thornton was born August 28, 1959 in Columbus, GA, daughter of the late Horace White and Geraldine Dankesreiter.
She worked as a receptionist at Smiths Station Elementary – South. Brenda was a member of Cascade Hills in Columbus, GA and taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed Alabama Football and BUNKO, but no matter the occasion, she was always the life of the party. Brenda never turned down an invitation and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Keith Thornton of Phenix City, AL; Two daughters, Brooke Wilson and husband Billy of Phenix City, AL and Kendal Thornton of Phenix City, AL; two brothers, Rick White and Jimbo White, both of Phenix City, AL;
