Wilma Christeen Morrison was born on December 26, 1922 to Robert Miles and Christeen Oakleaf Morrison in Lamar County Texas.

She passed into the arms of her loving savior on October 24, 2018.

Wilma is survived by her daughter Jaxine Boling and husband Len, step-daughter Janie Mauldin and husband Bill, daughter-in-law JoAnn (Clifton) Shaw and husband Ronnie, all of San Angelo. She is also survived by her grandchildren Michelle Elkins and husband Todd of Mertzon, Amee Pack and husband Mark of Euless, Cody Boling and wife Brittney of Georgetown, Clayton Boling and wife Jessica of San Angelo, step-granddaughters Marcy Srulowitz and husband Michael of San Marcos and Samantha Davidson and husband Dusty of Georgetown. Her great-grandchildren are Amanda, Hunter, Taylor and Caleb Elkins, Caitlyn and Erin Wiegand, Brody, Sutton and Barrett Boling as well as step-great-grandchildren Hunter and Harper Srulowitz and Saylor and Chloe Davidson. Wilma is also survived by two sisters, Mary Nessmith and Peggy Morrision both of San Angelo, a sister-in-law Dorothy Morrison, along with many nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Teeny Morrison, husbands Jack Clifton and Cecil Cunningham, son Randy Clifton, granddaughter Janna Boling, as well as brothers, RD, Aubrey and Curtis Morrison and sisters Robbie Shelton and Joyce Barnes. Also preceding her in death were a niece Valerie Sides, nephews Gerald Coleman and Aaron Morrison, great nephew Shane Coleman, brother in law Larry Barnes and sisters in law Mattie Ellen Morrison and Verima Morrison.

Wilma moved with her family to the Eola area in 1928 and they lived and farmed in the San Angelo area until she left home. She graduated from Lake View High School in 1940 and moved to Del Rio to begin her career with Western Union in 1942. She moved several times with Western Union, ending up in Brady Texas in 1948. There she met Jack Clifton, and they were soon married (in the chapel at Texas A&M). The couple lived in San Angelo, Spain, France and El Paso while Jack served his country.

When Jack passed away unexpectedly in 1962, Wilma, Randy and Jaxine moved back to San Angelo where she resided until her death.

After 20 years as a widow and the marriages of both her children, Wilma married Cecil Cunningham in 1981. After Cecil passed away in 1990, Wilma lived the rest of her years as a widow.

Wilma had many careers during her lifetime from real estate, insurance and investments to owning her own business. She was a firm believer in hard work, punctuality and professionalism, working for Johnsons Funeral Home until she was 90. While she was an outstanding businesswoman, Wilma’s passion was for her church and her family. As a master seamstress, she used her talents first for the Footprints of the Faithful program at Johnson Street Church of Christ and later at Rust Street Ministries, where she volunteered for over 22 years. She could always be counted on to create the latest fashion for Jaxine or for a multitude of family and friends.

Wilma’s legacy will be felt for many years as she leaves hundreds of friends and church family who have constantly marveled at her humility, class and zeal for volunteering. After volunteering at Rust Street for 22 years, at Meals for the Elderly into her 90’s and at Johnson Street for over 50 years, she studied with one of her caregivers to lead her to baptism in the last month. She was a shining example of a Christian disciple.

Family visitation will be Sunday, October 28th from 6-8 PM at Harpers Funeral Home. Services will be 2:00 PM Monday, October 29th at Johnson Street Church of Christ with burial to follow at Lawnhaven Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Rust Street Ministries or Meals for the Elderly. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Kindred Hospice and New Haven Assisted Living, especially, Angela, Mercedes, Vera, Julia, Michelle and Ria.
