Funeral services for Rex M. Herring will be Friday, October 26, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Church of Christ in Okemah, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at the Vamoosa Cemetery in Seminole County, Oklahoma.
Rex M Herring was born July 31, 1944 in Konawa, Oklahoma to Alvie William “Son” Herring and Evalyn (Huckleberry) Herring-Earnest. He passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018 in Henryetta, Oklahoma at the age of 74.
Rex. was a 1962 graduate of Okemah High School. He was a talented musician; having recorded an album with “Rex and the Roughouts”. He also worked with the Energex Company of Konawa, Oklahoma for 18 years.
He is preceded in death by his father, Alvie “Son” Herring.
She is survived by his mother, Evalyn Herring-Earnest of Okemah; two sons, Michael Herring of Seminole, Oklahoma and Jason Herring of Okemah; two daughters, Gail Kelley of Parrington, Texas and Donna Herring also of Parrington; his sister, Paula Coston and husband Darrell of Okemah; eight grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren..
Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah, Oklahoma and officiated by Bro. Danny Stewart.
