Jane was the first wife of Lewis Pearson Pippin, he is buried at Whitson Cemetery in Putnam Co.
Jane is the daughter of Robert and Margaret (Hicks) Lawson, and the sister of Elizabeth Lawson who married Lewis's brother Henry Pippin. Jane's father served as an officer in Capt. William Christian's Company of Colonel John Brown's Regt of East Tennessee Militia from Oct. 13, 1813, to Jan. 13, 1814, during the War of 1812. He was a blacksmith by trade.
