Age 85, passed away Monday, September 10, 2012. He was born May 12, 1927 in Milan, MI, the eighth of nine children of John and Julia (Stefina) Bobicz.

He graduated from Lincoln Consolidated Schools in 1945. Ken served in the Merchant Marines from 1945-1948. He grew up on a farm on Hitchingham Road near Whittaker. He spent twenty years farming on Dennison Road in Milan Township. For 28 years, Kenneth was a foreman at the Physical Plant at Eastern Michigan University. He was a 4th degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus. He also served his church in several other volunteer activities. Kenneth was the father of five children, Ken (Laurann) Bobicz of Milan, Chris (Mike) Price of Milan, Kathy (Charlie) Depp of Ann Arbor, Teresa (Brian Hayes) Bobicz of Grass Lake and Nancy (John) Smiatowicz of Milan; two stepsons, Butch Merkle of Iowa and Brian Merkle of Ypsilanti; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Jones, Helen Gardner and Elaine Stasiak, all of Whittaker; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Ann Cullen and four brothers, John Bobicz, Steve Bobicz, Daniel Bobicz and Earl Bobitz. The funeral mass will be 11:00 am Saturday, September 15, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 410 W. Cross Street, Ypsilanti. Entombment will follow in Highland Cemetery. Contributions in his memory may be made to Huron Woods, 5361 McAuley Drive, P.O. Box 995, Ann Arbor, MI 48106. Envelopes are available at Stark Funeral Service where the family will receive friends 4-8 pm Friday and at the church from 10:00 am until time of mass Saturday.
