VONCEIL LUNSFORD It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Vonceil S. "Vonnie" Lunsford, age 82. She was born May 20, 1927, in Georgiana, Ala., and passed away Sept. 2, 2009, at home of natural causes. She was a loving mother, cherished sister and devoted grandmother. Over the years, Vonnie worked as a secretary and a practical nurse. Prior to retirement, she worked in law enforcement in the Records Bureau of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for 20 years. Vonnie is survived by her daughter, Jan Lunsford; son, Jerry Lunsford; and grandson, Christopher Lunsford, all of Las Vegas. She is also survived by her sister, Jeanne Jernigan of Alabama and family; and her extended family, William Shepherd, Vicky Johnson and family. There will be no services. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity in honor of our mother's memory. -- "You can shed tears that she is gone, or you can smile because she has lived.
