Charlotte Louise Robertson (Riggs), age 75 of Evergreen, Colorado, passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, September 29, 2018. She was born to the late Paul Raymond Riggs and Hattie Mabel Riggs (Lauppe) on June 12, 1943, in Wichita, Kansas. Charlotte moved with her mother, father, and sister to Denver in 1949. Charlotte developed a deep love for the Rocky Mountains while growing up in Denver.
Charlotte graduated from Lincoln High School in Denver, Colorado in 1961, before attending Colorado State University followed by Arkansas State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Charlotte taught 3rd grade during the 1968-1969 school year in Blytheville, Arkansas. Charlotte became a full-time homemaker after her first son, Scott, was born in 1969.
Family and friends were Charlotte’s passion and delight. She grew up spending holiday vacations on the Lauppe farm with her sister and cousins in Burden, Kansas. She married the love of her life, Stephen Robertson, in 1966. The couple moved around for several years while Steve served in the U.S. Air Force. In 1973, Charlotte and family settled in Atlanta, Georgia, where she raised two sons before returning to Colorado with her husband in 2001. After the move, Charlotte remained in close touch with many dear friends in Georgia while being delighted to reconnect with childhood friends after retiring to Colorado. She also made many new friends through her involvement in the Z Car Club of Colorado and other social organizations.

The family requests that memorial donations be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association (https://www.alz.org).
