He married Martha Lucille Smith but later divorced. He married Beverly Alfson on May 29, 1969, in Brookings, South Dakota but later divorced. Survivors include his children, his siblings, 10 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Graveside Services were held in Wamego City Cemetery.
