God called Pat Potter home October 16, 2018. Patricia Ann was born in Cottage Grove February 8, 1942 to Edmund Leon and Laura Mae (Jordan) Ward. The family, including older brother Dennis, moved to Vaughn, OR where Pat began her school days. Later the family moved into the McKenzie Valley where they increased with the arrival of siblings, Linda, Mike and Jeff- all still living and missing their sister. Pat graduated as Salutatorian of her class from McKenzie River High School in 1960. In July 1960, she married Charles Windom. Together they had four children, Troy, Lori Dee, Tracey and Tony. She was actively involved in their schools and sports. The family enjoyed camping and outdoor activities together. In 1974 Pat married Al Lutz and they had one child, Mitch. Pat enjoyed Mitch’s cooking, companionship and their trips to the coast for the past five years. When Pat married Gordon Potter, she adopted his son Daniel Potter, completing the family of six children. Years later, Pat met Gordon’s adult children Yuki, Gordon Jr. and Angie; she accepted them as a part of her family. Gordon preceded Pat to heaven in July 2013. Her loving Mom-heart expanded to include her daughters and sons–in-law, 18 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. While managing her busy household, Pat studied and worked at Lane Community College and worked at Credit Unions. Her last job before retirement was secretary for her home church, Twin Rivers. At Twin Rivers she shared her gifts in Bible teaching, singing, committee work, and her favorite job, Sunday morning greeter. Pat lived with confidence that she was loved by her Creator and Savior. She was well loved by many, many people, because she loved well. Memorial contributions can be made in Pat’s honor to the Eugene Mission. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Twin Rivers Church 1660 Mohawk Blvd. Springfield, OR 97477. Pat will be laid to rest at Lane Memorial Gardens in Eugene. Services are in care of Major Family Funeral Home in Springfield.
