Alfred Harold Wood, 78, of 122 Farmdale Drive, Madison Heights, VA, died Thursday, January 09, 2003 in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Iva Snyder Wood.
Born September 9, 1924 in Nelson County, he was the son of the late James Henry and Dolly Wood. He was retired from John P. Hughes Motor Co. and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Wood is survived by one son, Harold A. Wood and his wife, Debbie of Madison Heights; one daughter, Linda W. Burks and her husband Roger, of Amherst; one brother, James "Pete" Wood of Lynchburg; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Whitten Monelison Chapel by Rev. Ronnie Freeman.
