Bette Lue Wilson White was born to Robert Sanford and Bonnie Arvonnia Leneau Brewer Wilson on March 6, 1923, at Oil City. Bette grew up at Walters. She married Loyd Eugene White on Feb. 14, 1942, at Walters. They made their home west of town in the Emerson Community for a time and then moved to the oilfield southwest of Temple. Bette worked at Haggar's, did home care and the couple also was engaged in farming. They retired and moved to Walters in 2000 and then after his death she returned to Temple in 2008.
