Brenda Lou (“Bertha”) Skaggs, 68, of Bethel passed away Monday, October 22, 2018 at her home.

She was born on March 22, 1950 in Columbus, Ohio, a daughter of the late Lonnie and Wanda Rigsby Skaggs.

Bertha was a homemaker, who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She was an Elvis fan and enjoyed collecting Elvis Memorabilia. She also enjoyed shopping at Ollie’s and Wal-Mart.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Billy Ray Bowles and one grandson, Ricky Sapp.

Survivors include two sons, Tony (Pam) Parker of Bethel and Ricky (Tonia) Turner of Dayton, Ohio, daughter-in-law, Gail Bowles of Bethel, six brothers, Jackie (Connie) Skaggs of Salt Lick, Robert (Kathy) Skaggs of Jeffersonville, George Skaggs of Bethel, Jimmy Skaggs of Owingsville, Charles Skaggs of Mt. Sterling and Russell (Donna) Skaggs of Salt Lick, four sisters, Linda (Jerry) Schultz of Mt. Sterling, Patty Johnson of Owingsville, Phyllis Gilley of Mt. Sterling and Debbie Driver of Jasper, Alabama, five grandsons, Ricky Turner, Jr., Aaron Turner, Dustin Parker, Hunter Parker and Austin Bowles, one great-grandson, Riley, special friend, Rosemary Howard of Bethel and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 25, 2018 in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Roy Stacy officiating.

Burial will follow in the Longview Cemetery at Bethel.

Visitation is after 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Charles Skaggs, Robert Skaggs, Russell Skaggs, Jimmy Skaggs, George Skaggs, Jackie Skaggs, Robbie Skaggs, John Workman, Jr. and Chris Skaggs.

Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Crouch, Ricky Bussell, Harry Hunt, Ralph Hunt, Matt King and Les Spencer
