Fred L. Venable, 68, Bettendorf, died early Tuesday at Mercy Hospital after suffering a stroke. Services will be Thursday in the Runge Chapel, with burial in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Mr. Venable was born in Johnson City, Tenn. He had been employed as a security guard for Aluminum Company of America, Davenport Works.
Survivors include daughter, Mrs. Boyd (Norma) Schumann, Davenport, and Mrs. Don (Merle) Hylton, rural Dixon; sons, Fred L. Jr., Bettendorf, and James, Davenport; 12 grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Jay Spillers, Mount Pleasant.
