January 9, 1972, Lillie and S. L. Barnett of Bastrop, Texas were blessed wich the binh of a "handsome" and healthy baby boy. He was named Preston DeShaun Barnett. He later became known as "Buck".
At an early age, Preston professed hisfaith in Christ and was baptized under the pastorage of Reverend C. A. Williams. He attended Sunday Church School and was active in the Youth Choir.
Preston graduated from Bastrop High School in 1990. After graduation , he auended the Austin Community College.
Presron was well known and liked by everyone that he touched.
On the early morning of July 30, 1993, Preston was called to eternal rest , where he will join the other saints of God. He leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted and loving mother, Lillie Barnett; father, S. L. Barnett; a loving grandmother, Willie Mae Williams; eight sisters: Della Evhon Barnett and Sandra Jackson of Victoria, Texas, Chris Means of Houston, Texas, Pam Barnett and Phyllis Barnett of Austin, Texas, Patricia Singleton, Perrheressia Waites and Penny Barnett of Bastrop, Texas; three brothers: Ervin Gill of Houston, Texas, Patrick Barnett of Austin, Texas and Pernell Barnett of Bastrop, Texas; six aunts: Sue Ann Hyder, Geneva Dimmery, Christina Jefferson, Sophia Williams, Angelina Williams and Lois Barnett; six great aunts: Lee Esther Hyder of Bastrop, Willie Lee Jackson of San Antonio, Lillie D. Limuel, Jewel Franklin and Sammie L. Wilson of Bastrop, and Lennie Knox of Houston, Texas;five uncles: Elroy Williams, Donald Williams, Ervin Barnett, Sammie D. Barnett and Thomas
Jefferson, Sr.;four brother-in-laws: Ronald Singleton, Casey Waites, Deon White and Ronald Jackson; one sister-in-law, Lori Barnett,· a host of nieces, nephews and cousins,· one niece that was raised as a sister, Shamiya Falke; one very special friend , La Tasha Meeks, and a host of otherfriends .
He was preceded in death by two grandfmhers and a grandmother.
