James M. Westlake, age 84, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2018. Beloved husband of 58 years of Karla (nee Koehn) who passed away recently. Loving father of David (Regina) Westlake and Kathryn Westlake; dear grandfather of Christina and Julia Westlake; cherished son of Donald and Mabelle (nee Knight), both deceased; cousin and friend of many.

Graduate of Canton Lehman High School (’52) where he enjoyed playing football. Proud alumnus of The Ohio State University (’59, BS Bus Adm.), member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity and loyal Buckeye fan. Proud veteran of U.S. Army. Retired from Glidden-Durkee company. Avid golfer and Cleveland sports team fan, enjoyed travel, nature, art and music. Enjoyed years of community service with Kiwanis Club of Lakewood including Key Club committee volunteer.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 3 from 4-8pm at the Zeis-McGreevey Funeral Home, 16105 Detroit Ave., Lakewood OH 44107. Memorial service will be held Thursday, October 4 at 11:00 at Lakewood United Methodist Church, 15700 Detroit Ave., Lakewood, OH 44107. Interment at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria OH.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial scholarship contributions to The Lakewood Kiwanis Foundation, P.O. Box 770405, Lakewood OH 44107.
