GRANGER, IN - Kevin Sanford Blythe, age 52, of Gainesville, Georgia, formerly of Granger, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, October 18, 2018 in Gainesville.

Born May 7, 1966 in St. Marys, Ohio, he was the son of Dolores Mary “Dee” (Machowczyk) Blythe-McLain of Logan and the late Dennis Burton Blythe.

Kevin was a 1989 graduate of Ohio University with a master's degree in Engineering. He was an Engineer for Siemens Corporation in Mishawaka, Indiana. Kevin dearly loved the game of golf, playing often. He was an avid fan of the Miami Dolphins, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and his alma mater, Ohio University Bobcats. Kevin was also a former member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Logan.

Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Virginia “Ginny” Eileen (Matheny) Blythe of Gainesville, Georgia; one daughter, Emma Eileen Blythe of Bloomington, Indiana; one son, Ethan Edward Blythe of West Lafayette, Indiana; one stepsister, Susie (Robert) Hall of Logan; two stepbrothers, Joe (Lanette) McLain of Columbus, Ohio and Gary McLain of Logan; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his father, Kevin was preceded in death by his brother, Lewis Scott Blythe (2008) and his stepfather, James McLain.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 26, 2018 at Roberts Funeral Home - Logan, Ohio with Reverend Doctor Scott Wilson and Reverend Scott A. Smith officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Logan, Ohio.

Friends may call at Roberts Funeral Home from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Thursday.

The family suggests contributions be made in Kevin's name to the American Heart Association, 5455 North High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43214.
