Raymond Eugene “Gene” Wood, born on December 20, 1933, Gene went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 20, 2018.
He was totally devoted to Christ and His church and supported many of them in this area. He served with the United States Post Office for 43 years and was with the Army and Army National Guard for over 40 years.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bobbi and his parents, Raymond Everett Wood and Cora Collinsworth Brice.
He leaves behind a brother and sister in law, Lowell and Ruth Wood as well as his children, Raymond Eugene “Gene” Wood, Jr. and wife, Sonja; John Wood and fiancé, Pam Sharpe, David Wood and wife, Joanne; Patti Dobbs and husband, David. Grandchildren, Luke Wood and wife, Sara; Hannah Wood; Andy Wood and wife, Grace; Jonathan, Lucy and Maddie Wood; Josie and Harley Andrews, Joshua and Jansen Dobbs. Great grandchildren, Briana, Connor and Xander Wood.

A celebration of life service will be held at 7 pm, Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home. Rev. Charlie Lynch officiating. Family and friends will meet at Lynnhurst Cemetery 11 am Wednesday, October 24, 2018 for graveside services. The family will receive friends 5-7 pm Tuesday at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 W. Adair.
