"Final rites were held at 10 a.m. today for Rufus J. Goza, 72, at Hixson Brothers Funeral Chapel with Dr. James T. Horton officiating. Burial was in the Riverview Cemetery. Mr. Goza, a retired member of the Monroe (LA) Police Department, died Monday in Shreveport following a lengthy illness. He was a veteran of both World War I and II, a member of the First Baptist Church of Monroe, Western Star Masonic Lodge, Dixie Chapter No. 179, Order of the Eastern Star, and the El Karuba Louisiana Shrine Club. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Irene Keller Goza, Monroe; two sons, R.J. Goza, Jr., of Monroe and Norman K. Goza of Rayville; three daughters, Mrs. Georgia Belle Oskoian and Mrs. Frances Audirsch, both of Monroe and Mrs. Joy Dee Reed of Wheeling, W. Virginia; two brothers, Raburn Goza of West Monroe and Burkett Goza of Escondido, CA; and 11 grandchildren. Pallbearers were L.C. Taylor, George Woods, J.M. Busby, V. W. Cummings, H.T. Ward and H.L.
