Mrs. Ethel Pauline Bleakney Beatty, 72, of Elderton, died Sunday, Aug. 9, 1970, at 9:15 P.M. in the Armstrong County Memorial Hospital, Kittanning. A daughter of William Curtis and Millie Hall Bleakney, she was born Aug. 5, 1898 at Plumcreek Township, Armstrong County. She had been a resident of the Elderton area her entire life.. and was a former school teacher in Plum Creek Township.
Mrs. Beatty was a member of the Elderton United Presbyterian Church, and Silver Star Rebekah Lodge No. 67.
Surviving are a brother, Curtis Frank Bleakney, Shelocta, R.D.1;; three sisters, Mrs. Harry N. (Ruth) Montgomery, Rural Valley; Mrs. Mildred Baker, Kittanning; Mrs. Kenneth ( Martha ) Aikens, Shelocta, R.D.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Beatty in 1953; two brothers, Homer and Earl Bleakney, and a sister, Francis Bleakney Williams.
Friends will be received from 7-9 pm today, and 7-9 pm Tuesday at the Clark Funeral Home, Elderton, where services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 pm, with the Rev. W. Allen Shannon officiating. Interment will be made in the Elderton Cemetery.
