Charles' wife Laura died leaving him with those three children to raise . In 1920 he and the three children were living in the house with his mother-in-law Lura S. Whitesides who was a widow with two daughters Vera and Sally still living at home . In 1922 Charles married Gertrude Taylor . On September 18 , 1972 Charles F. Taylor died survived by his wife Gertrude Priddy , his daughters Mrs. Velma Moore , Delia Mae Taylor Summers , his son Samuel Lavert Taylor , two half brothers Dewey and Claude Taylor , 6 grandchildren , and thirteen great grandchildren . He was preceded in death by his first wife Laura Whitesides Taylor .
