Janet Ellen Harper peacefully transitioned into glory on Friday, October 19,2018. Janet's testimony began on May 27, 1945. She was born to Eugene Mitchell Sr. and Naomi Mitchell in Washington, D.C. Janet was one of three children.
Janet accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She attended elementary school in Hagerstown, Maryland and later attended Chester Middle and High School in Chester, Pennsylvania. After graduation, Janet continued her education at Delaware State earning her Bachelor's Degree in Education. After finishing her degree Janet taught for twenty-six years in the public school system. She taught elementary and middle school students in the New Jersey Public Schools, Los Angeles County Public Schools and Long Beach County Public Schools.
Janet retired from teaching in the school system but continued teaching as a certified health professional with the company Nature's Sunshine. Janet brought Nature's Sunshine and began a natural health movement, as we know it to Anaheim Hills, California, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Nashville, Tennessee more than thirty years ago. It is because of her, you, and many others like you that we have all been blessed with opportunities to study, learn about, share, and abundantly grow and thrive within this wondrous lifestyle.
James and Janet married on October 11, 1986 and enjoyed thirty-two years together. Janet is survived by her husband, James Harper; six sons; one daughter; their spouses; thirteen grandchildren; and six great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Janet Ellen Harper will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, friend, and teacher who loved to travel. Janet is leaving a legacy of excellence that will continue to live through us.
