Francis B. Wells

91, of Indianapolis, passed away on March 7, 2017. He was born on September 21, 1925 in New York City, NY to the late Roy and Olive Wells. He married Lucille M. Fredericksen on July 26, 1952 and divorced in September 1982. Francis married Dorothy J. McCormick on March 22, 1986 and they were inseparable until her death on November 10, 1998.

A long-longtime resident of Indianapolis, Frank was a member of the Indianapolis Jazz Club, the IS Dancers and the Continental Dance Club. He enjoyed and regularly played bridge and euchre with his friends. Frank was a World War II Army veteran. It was the highlight of his later years to be an honoree of and participate in the Indy Honor Flight to Washington, DC on September 5, 2015.

Frank is survived by his son Frederick Wells, daughters V. Susan Wells and Barbara (Wells) Sommerer; stepsons, Tim McCormick and Daniel McCormick and stepgrandchildren Scott McCormick, Nichole (McCormick) Santiago and Danielle McCormick. He is also survived by his sister Deborah Howell, three nephews and two nieces.

Per Frank's request, no services will be held, but you may donate in his memory to the Indy Honor Flight, its sponsors, or the Veterans Administration. Arrangements entrusted to Crown Hill Funeral Home.
