WWI Veteran
Private - Infantry - Washington National Guard;
Spruce Div. Camp 5G 7B, Newport, Oregon 1918

He was born John William Weidenbacker, son of Andrew Fullum Weidenbacker II and Ida (or Aida) Robinson/Robertson. He went by "Jack" for life after WWI, where he became a war veteran.

Married:
1. Hazel Annabel P. Daniel in 1917 Idaho and again in 1919
- only child, Mary Jane
2. Mae Mulrooney in 1922
3. Vera Bernice McKee in 1929
4. Inés Reyes Retana Nájera in 1941

His death certificate shows he died of multiple sclerosis and is under the name of "Jack Weindenbacker Robinson" (his mother's maiden name). After 1950, he used these names on all documents, using Robins or Robinson as his middle name and a misspelling of his last name as Weindenbacker instead of Weidenbacker.

Interesting he is using his mother's maiden name as one of his own. He married Hazel Annabel Daniel in 1917 in Coeur D'Alene, ID to claim exemption from the war using each others mother's maiden names. She used Ross for hers, and he used Robinson for his surname. Truth came out and they remarried using their real names in 1919 Spokane, WA. His mothers name is Ida Robinson or Robertson. It is shown both ways on several documents. Much information is known about his father, but his mother's history is a mystery. Jack did go to war in 1918 at Spruce Div. Camp 5G 7B, near Newport, Oregon with men who served with him a this camp building a railroad. He fell down a fill and injured his spine.

In 1919, age 23, he was initiated into Elks Lodge, Spokane Lodge No. 228, Spokane, WA as a member.

His occupations were Electrician (1910 census), and Clerk for Spokane Falls and Home T & T (Telephone Co.) in Spokane, WA. He later went on to work as a salesman, selling paper and dental supplies while living in California in the 1920s (this would be post-spinal injury). By age 41, in 1936, he is listed as "retired"

In the 1950s, he is traveling between California and Mexico and using the name 'Jack Robins Weindenbacker'.
