Affectionately called "Jeanie" by her family and friends, she attended public schools in San Antonio, then furthered her education at St. Phillips College by obtaining a Certificate in Training as a Nurse's Aid in pediatrics. She also received a Certificate in Closed Chest Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation at Bexar County Regional District. She worked for University Health System for thirty-two years. On June 16,1961, she gave birth to a beautiful son, Lamar Theodore Ellis. She dedicated her life to caring for and raising him.
She professed Christ at an early age where she was baptized and attended East St. Paul United Methodist Church up until her health no longer permitted her.
Jeanie was well known for the love and care she had for the babies she worked with and the love she shared with her family. She unapologetically marched to the beat of her own drum and lived her life exactly how she wanted. She will be truly missed as we know she is now with her beloved son Lamar.
Jeanie is preceded in death by her mother Erma Jones and son Lamar T. 'Ellis and has left to cherish her memory; one sister, Gloria "Go Go" Clayton(Dewayne); nieces, Terri Williams-Gore, Tonja Williams, Angela Allen; one uncle, Clifford Hardeman of Beaumont Texas (Winnie); two aunts, Mary and Amy Hardeman; great nephews, Andre Gore, Kenard and Deshawn Allen; one great-great niece, Elliana Rosette Roberts; and one great-great nephew, Jordan Daniel Allen, as well as a tremendously large host of cousins, extended family and close friends.
The family expresses their appreciation for the many prayers, beautiful thoughts, and selfless deeds during this time of bereavement. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
