Joshua was raised in Warren by his parents, Ivan and Marietta. He was a very adventurous boy who loved looking for snakes and other wild animals. Joshua also enjoyed playing the drums, skateboarding, rollerblading, riding motorcycles and playing basketball. He attended Martin Luther Lutheran School in Madison Heights and then attended Lincoln High School in Warren graduating in 2003. He joined the National Guard when he was 17 years of age and was always proud of his decision to serve his country.
He is survived by his parents, Ivan and Marietta; his grandmothers, Muriel Wise and Mary Ringe; his fiancée, Rachel Champine; Joshua was the nephew of Mike (Charlotte) Wise, Roy Wise, Ann (Larry) Larson, and Caroline (Bill) Bohlender; and many cousins. He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Roy Wise, and Don Ringe; his uncle Paul Ringe.
