Rochelle Marie Ross-Thomas, 62, returned to her heavenly home on May 25, 2018 after a valiant battle with a long illness. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.
Rochelle “Roch” was born to the late John and Vivian Joan Ross, a KATY Porter and a homemaker & LPN respectively, in Parsons, Kansas on February 5, 1956. She was immersed in the Christian community that would be her lifelong support from an early age. She graduated from the Parsons College of Nursing in 1978 as a Licensed Practical Nurse. As an LPN, Rochelle accepted a position at a Nursing home in Denison for many years, after which she began in-home healthcare as a private duty nurse.
Chelly was blessed with a large and loving family. She married her loving best friend, Danny Thomas, in 1979, Muskogee, Okla. Rochelle helped raise her six children with humility. She taught them to love, respect, and depend on one another. From the very beginning, she dedicated her children to God and encouraged them to explore the beauty of the gospels.
Rochelle was a servant at heart. She was kind and soft-spoken, laughing and smiling amidst a Godly conversation. She always had time to answer a question and aide in assisting the helpless, no matter how small. She is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her Creator.
Rochelle is survived by her husband of many years, Danny Thomas; her sons Eric & Brooke(wife), Danny Ross, Brian, James, Andre, and Juan; her grandchildren Kaydence, Jaylynn, Mariah, Naomi, Carter, Donavan, Zarron, Dequantae, Jamari, and Avery; and her brothers, Roscoe in San Diego, Ca.; Ronald Joseph in Phoenix, Arizona, and Steve of Denver, Colorado and her sisters Marjorie of Dallas, Texas, Alice of Summit, Oklahoma; Denice of Muskogee, Okla., and Pamela of Tulsa, Okla. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Gregory, Kevin, Manual, John Jr., Vernon; her sister Rose; her parents.
A Home Going Service is scheduled Monday, June 4, 2018, 11:00 a.m., Deans Chapel Baptist Church, 1119 S. Junction St., Muskogee, OK; Rev. Don Dumas eulogizing. Interment will follow in Booker T. Washington Cemetery, Muskogee, OK.
Visitation will be Sunday, 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
