Clinton Monroe Moore, age 88, of Sullivan Road, Beaver, WV, passed away at the Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital on Friday, 18 Mar 2016.


Born on 2 Mar 1928, at Sullivan, he was the son of the late Malcomb Grayham Moore and Tennie Lewey Moore.


Mr. Moore was a retired coal miner where he worked as a mine foreman for Roland Consolidated Mines at Workman's Creek. He was a member of the UMWA and was a member of the Bluestone Primitive Baptist Church at Jumping Branch.


Mr. Moore had made his home in the Sullivan Road area most of his adult life and enjoyed canning and gardening.


Mr. Moore was a 1947 graduate of Shady Spring High School. While at the high school Mr. Moore was the co-captain along with his brother Cliff of both the basketball and football teams, taking them to the state championships.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Clifford "Cliff" Moore, by brothers, Arvin, Paul, Cameron, Bill, and Ernest, and by sisters Velma "Vee," Lena Stella, and Lillian. Mr. Moore was the last surviving member of his immediate family.


Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of 67 years, Wilma Harvey Moore; a son and his wife; a daughter; Four granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren.


Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity, WV.
