Krystal Gayle Lawrence
Nov 21, 1977 - Oct 12, 2018

Krystal Gayle Lawrence was born on November 21, 1977, in Lansing, MI, to Joyce and Milan Lawrence, Sr. Krystal attended school in Lansing, MI, prior to moving to Kalamazoo.

Krystal enjoyed spending time with family and friends bringing laughter and smiles whenever you were in her presence. She liked riding on motorcycles, going on walks, cooking, watching movies, listening to music, and dancing. She was very talented in many ways including doing hair and nails.

Krystal never met a stranger. Her outgoing care-free spirit welcomed anyone who needed a friend or a listening ear. She was always there for people and sent “I love you” messages frequently just because. She accepted everyone and helped anyone that she could. She was often known as the neighborhood sister and auntie.

Krystal was a strong and resilient person who loved life. She had a beautiful spirit and a smile that lit up the room. She was really comical and fun to be around. Her natural, real down-to-earth personality showed her genuineness. You never needed to wonder what was on her mind because she would definitely tell you. She was dedicated to her job at Best Western and often shared many funny stories about her life and being at work. She was working towards acquiring the life that she had imagined for her and her children. Her commitment to herself and to her goals inspired her each day. She was very proud of all her accomplishments and we are very, very proud of her! Krystal, we will miss the love, spirit, and joy you brought to this family. We will never forget you!

Krystal was preceded in death by her sister, Dawn Sophia Lawrence.

She leaves to cherish, her mother, Joyce Lawrence of Kalamazoo, MI; father, Milan (Freddie) Lawrence of Detroit, MI; three brothers, Milan Jr. (Heather) Lawrence of Salem, OR; Darryl (Renee) Lawrence of Kalamazoo MI; and Mark (Natsumi) Lawrence of Belleville, IL; two sisters, Shelly Lawrence and Tracy (Terry) Miller of Kalamazoo, MI; two daughters, Samira and Jasmine Lawrence; granddaughter, Sa’Niya Sanders; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
