Melanie Gascon Burris of Mandeville, LA passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018. She was born on May 7, 1963 in Baton Rouge, LA to Raymond A. Gascon and Mary Bowden Gascon.

Melanie is survived by her loving husband, Nathan "Kevin" Burris, her daughter Rachel Seippel (Craig), and her grandson Casen Seippel. She is also survived by her mother Mary Gascon; her sister Sheri Engels (James "Butch"); her brother Andy Gascon (Diane); her nephews Trey and Martin Holifield; and her niece Janice Holifield.

Melanie is preceded in death by her father Raymond A. Gascon, her paternal grandparents Oscar and Katherine Gascon, and her maternal grandparents James and Hattie Bowden.

Melanie loved to sing and looked forward to family gatherings and singing in her church choir. She was an active member at Jefferson Baptist Church in Baton Rouge and more recently First Baptist Mandeville.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 2:00 PM with visitation on Tuesday beginning at 12:00 PM. Interment to follow the service in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, Covington, LA.
