Emma Maude noted to have been born in Iowa. Parents being John Wesley Williams and Catherine Deardorff they are noted to have been married on May 19, 1836 in Union county Indiana. John Wesley's year of birth is 1813. They came from Indiana in 1843. They settled in Des Moines County Iowa near Long Creek Church. She is noted to have 11 siblings: Cynthia Ann, Lucinda Catherine, Jonas Wesley, John Hubbard Bowden, Rebecca Sophronia, Sarah Elizabeth, George Washington, Laura Clementine, Margaret Clementine, her twin Amanda Matilda, Frank Beauregard and Algalena Ivonette. This information sent to me in an email November 2012 from a family relative.

She first married Willis Clingman and then later she married John Abner Bishop on the 13th of March 1883 in Des Moines County and they had two children: John Earle Bishop born 1889 and died 1891......also buried here at Farlow. Also LuLu Myrtle Bishop born Jan 29, 1884 in Danville, Iowa.

1885 New London, Iowa census noted John and Emma living next door to his mother Isabella and children. His occupation is farmer. John and Emma's children are Clarice Clingman age 9, Laura Clingman age 4 and Lulu Bishop age 1.

Henry County Iowa Death Records note her to have died on May 3, 1891 with burial at Farlow Cemetery on May 5, 1891. Age 31 years and born in Iowa. Cause of death is "Pneumonia" for 4 weeks. Signed by F. R. Wilson. M.D. New London, Iowa.
