Born February 26, 1937 in Ambler, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Freda (Brister) McCurdy.
Her father served in the United States Navy as Lieutenant Commander, and her mother worked as a social worker.
June graduated from Penn State University and worked as a teacher in elementary education.
For many years, she enjoyed dog breeding, and owning and operating her own business: Stony Acres Kennel and Bella Dog Grooming.
She loved all creatures and worked tirelessly to provide a home for lost and rescued animals. She never turned an animal in need away, wanting always to be their friend and protector.
In addition to her parents, June was predeceased by her sister.
Those left to cherish her memory are her life partner of 39 years, Hardy Scheib; four children, Lisa Welch, Megan Welch, Jennifer Mancucci, and Jonathan (Amy) Welch; seven grandchildren, Quentin, Amelia, Kyle, Lillian, Zachary, Samuel, and Alexandra; two great-grandchildren, Rial and Avery; two brothers, Bruce and Glenn McCurdy; and several cousins, nephews, and a niece.
