WHITE MILLS — Joseph J. Miszler of White Mills, a retired 23-year Acme manager and lifelong area resident, died Thursday, October 29, at home. He was 81. Son of the late Charles and Minnie Weist Miszler, he was born August 13, 1917, in White Mills. He was a life member of the White Mills Fire Company; a former member of the Cricket Hill Golf Club; an honorary life member of the Dorflinger-Suydam Hunting Club; and the Hilltop Hunting Club. Survivors include his wife, Susan Foster Miszler; a son Michael; three daughters, Robin Horst of Torrey, Lisa Hancock of White Mills, and Lori Hiller of Bethany; three brothers, Vincent of Beach Lake and Bernard and Albert, both of White Mills; seven grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson, Jeremy Hiller; two sisters, Stella and Mary; and two brothers, Francis and Charles. Services were held at the Hessling Funeral Home in Honesdale. Cremation followed at the Maple Hill at Salem Crematory in Archbald.
