Obituary for Mark "Tony" Garmon
Funeral services for Mark “Tony” Garmon, 60, of Gilmer will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 21, 2018 in the chapel at McWhorter Funeral Home with Bro. Charles Johnson officiating. Interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mark was born on March 22, 1958 in El Paso, Texas to Morris William Sr. and Maggie Elizabeth Smith Garmon and passed from this life on October 17, 2018 in Gilmer, Texas.
Mark worked for Walmart for many years as a store manager before returning to Gilmer to raise his two girls as Gilmer Buckeyes. His favorite achievement was being “Pappy” to his precious Savannah and Jase.
He was preceded in death by his father and sister Teresa Ann Garmon.
Survivors include his daughters; Rebecca Steelman and Jessica Garmon, mother; Elizabeth Garmon, brothers; Morris William Garmon Jr. and Walter Garmon, sister; Peggy Sue Garmon. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren, 2 nieces; 3 nephews; numerous great nieces and nephews and his lifelong companion Genny Garmon.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Garmon, Clay Steelman, Randy Howell, Cody Garmon, Richard Whitworth, and John Millwood.
