Dennis "Dawg" Meadows III, 51, of Sterling City passed away on Sunday October 14, 2018.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday October 20, 2018 in the Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 10 am to 1 pm, prior to the service at the funeral home. A committal service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery.

Dennis was born on November 14, 1966 in Decatur, Georgia.

He attended Hardin Simmons University and received a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and a Master's degree in Social Work.

Dennis proudly served in the US Air Force for 20 years.

He was a member of the NRA, the Wild Stallion Combat Survival Search and Rescue, The Hardin Simmons Criminal Justice Association, Hardin Simmons Military Veterans Association, Sterling Veterans and Citizens Foundation, and served as Vice President of the West Texas Veterans Alliance .

He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Belverd Meadows Jr.; and cousins, David and Stephen Mudd.

Survivors include his wife, Jimi Wright; his mother, Sandra Meadows; sons, John Dallas Meadows of Loveland Colorado, Dustin Lee Meadows of Abilene, and stepson, Holden Pierce Lindsey of Sterling City; stepdaughters, Kayla Meyer Meadows of Abilene, Shannon Bass of Fort Worth; sisters, Cassey Bush and husband Ryan and Kellie Cardelino and husband Nick; several nieces; grandson, Adam James Meyer; as well as a large extended family and in laws in San Antonio, Sterling City, Junction, Menard and Fort Worth.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be made to the Department of Veterans Affairs HUD/VASH Program in Big Spring, Texas.
