Dan was born on February 24, 1947 in Minneapolis, MN, son of the late Alva and Mia (Klair) Crom. He was a graduate of McGregor High School with the class of 1965. Dan then joined the Armed Services, serving in the U.S. Army from 1965 until 1967. In 1968 he married Sandy Ellis in Palisade, MN and together they celebrated 50 years of marriage this year. Dan attended Northwestern College and Oak Hills Bible College in Minnesota. He continued his calling by attending Western Seminary in Oregon where he became a Reverend. Dan answered his calls by serving in churches in Hibbing, MN, Colorado Springs, CO, and in 1988 he joined the church in Sheboygan where he remained Pastor for 18 years until his retirement in 2006. After retirement he served for a year in West Bend.
He was a member of Kiel Alliance Church, and the VFW Post. Dan led many seminars across the country for Evangelism Explosion. He had a love for fishing, having his captains license, so he could own and operate his own charter business for his friends and family -- taking them on many trips aboard his boat known as "Soulhunter." He also enjoyed camping, and took pride in his membership of the Kansas City BBQ Society, where he and Sandy were BBQ judges. One could not forget his love for Star Wars, and most importantly was the joy he received when he could just spend time with his family.
Dan took to reading the Book of Revelations to prepare for his home going.
He is survived by his wife: Sandy, New Holstein; two children: Dean (Jodi) Crom, Kiel and Mia Crom, Cudahy; two grandchildren: Jacalyn and Sydney Crom; one brother: Mike (Deanna) Crom, MN; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Tom (Sue) Ellis, MN, Lissa (Ken) Landrus, MN, and Marty (Sharon) MN. Dan is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren: Hope and Berg, and three brothers.
Funeral Services for Dan will be held on Monday, September 24, 2018 at Kiel Alliance Church (310 Fremont Street). Co-officiating at the service will be Pastor Erick Adams and Jack Stimmel. Burial will follow at Schleswig Cemetery, Rockville, with Military Honors accorded by VFW Post #6707.
